BOG GARDENS and PLANTING

PLEASE NOTE...SOME OF THE WORDS IN THESE PREVIEW BOXES
HAVE BEEN DELETED FROM THE ORIGINAL TEXT ON THE CD-ROM. AND ARE SHOWN LIKE THIS...XXXXXXXXXXXX.

ALSO NOTE THAT MOST OF THE PICTURES ARE NOT IN THE SAME SEQUENCE AS THEY APPEAR ON THE CD-ROM. AND IN MOST CASES THEY DO NOT RELATE TO EACH OTHER IN THESE PREVIEWS.

There are three types of Bog Gardens...there's the type that XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX the pool or stream, and the type that XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and therefore must be XXXXXXXX...and the third, well more on that later.

And here follows 100 superb pictures of all the different variations, the different ways to build them, and the wonderful plants that will only grow in moist conditions.

Almost time for reality...but first here's a fairly modest Bog Garden...even smaller and much, much larger examples will follow later. And don't forget, the methods are the same whatever the size.
Clearly this pool would be much too small to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX behind it.
So what you do is...trick the eye into "thinking" it's XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, which is pretty easy with my methods...

And here's a tiny version with Ligularia's and Primula's with aquatic plants in front.

And here's a close view of David's efforts...superb, and just so very interesting!

Planting Note...you treat these plants just as you would XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX...control them as much as you feel you need to.

Or in very big boggy areas you let them do their own thing...but, if they are happy, you will have to sort them out every few years because they spread wonderfully but the tough ones will smother the weaker ones.
